Toddler Groups

We love getting to know local families!

We run midweek groups that are for under fives and their grown ups:

  • Free on a Wednesday morning with a child (or children) under 5? We would love to welcome you to our Tots & Toddlers play session. Our stay and play group runs weekly and is a great chance to meet other parents and carers in our local community whilst your children have fun exploring lots of toys and activities.

    We have areas to suit all ages including bricks, cars, crafts, dolls, a play kitchen and so much more! We also have a designated baby area with lots of toys for our very youngest tots.

    A donation of £2 per family is suggested, but not at all required. We’d love to see you!

  • Next sessions: 7th Nov, 5th Dec.

    Free on a Friday morning with a child (or children) under 5? We would love to welcome you to our Treasure Tots play session. Our stay and play group runs monthly and each session is fun, friendly and packed full of activities for your little treasures.

    Each session includes: a short Bible story acted out using props (such as puppets, dressing up, bubbles or our large parachute); song/dance time with instruments or streamers; themed activities and toys; a group snack time with a range of child friendly snacks (and cake for the grown ups!)

    This group is free of charge, everyone is welcome and no booking is required - just turn up!

  • For women and under 5s, every Wednesday in November from 11:30am-12:30pm.

    Curious about the Christian faith but feel like life is just too busy? Alpha is designed with you in mind! Join us for just one hour each week to enjoy lunch, watch a short film and chat in a small, friendly group.

    Bringing little ones?
    No problem! Under-5s are very welcome. We’ll have engaging activities and a fantastic crèche team to keep them entertained - or they’re welcome to snuggle on your knee and be part of the conversation.

Not sure what to expect?

FAQs

  • Children and their grown-ups arrive from 10am and sign in at the welcome table. The first hour is free play and you can move between the two rooms of activities. It’s also chance to help yourself to refreshments which are set up on the kitchen hatch. At 11am, we do a quick tidy up and join together for snack time. After this, we finish our session by singing nursery rhymes together (often with our lovely volunteer Christine playing guitar!)

  • Treasure Tots begins with refreshments and toys while everyone arrives and settles in. At 10:15am, we sing our hello song and all sit in a circle for an interactive Bible story time. After the story, we do some singing and dancing. Then it’s time to explore our themed activity trays and tables. At the end, we finish with another song and a goodbye prayer.

  • Still come! Leaving the house with young children can be such a juggle. There’s no such thing as late at our groups. Even if you turn up just five minutes before the end, you will still be welcomed with a cup of tea and a chat!

  • We know parenting can be so tricky at times for a whole variety of reasons. At all of the groups and events that we run, you are so welcome to come as you are.

    If attending for the first time feels overwhelming, we are very happy to meet up in advance to show you around the building or meet you on the day to walk into the group together. If this would help, please email Nikki and we will work out a plan together to help you settle in.

  • Absolutely yes! You are very welcome to turn up any week or if you’d prefer you can get in touch with us in advance and we can work together to help your little one settle in. We’ve recently introduced a sensory tent, ear defenders and visual timetable at our groups. We aim to make our groups as inclusive as possible, and are always looking for ways to develop this so please feel free to share your ideas and expertise with us!

  • We run lots of additional events such as our summer fun days and Christmas events. We are also hoping to add additional groups in the near future. If you would like to be added to our mailing list to keep in the loop, please email Nikki and you’ll receive our monthly newsletter.
