We gather across the day to worship Jesus, hear from the Bible and hang out as family.

At certain times of the year, such as Christmas, Easter and the summer months, our gathering times may differ.

  • A quieter, reflective, 60 minute gathering with worship, prayer, a Bible message and plenty of space.

  • An interactive and lively 60 minute gathering with worship, games and a short talk.

  • A 90-minute gathering with extended worship, a talk from the Bible and chance to hang out. Most of our students come to this gathering, but all are welcome!

FAQs

  • Every time we gather, we worship Jesus (usually by singing songs), we hear a talk from the Bible and take time to connect with one another. Each gathering has its own flavour and you'd be welcome at any and all of them.

  • In Spring 2024, Growing Hope carried out an accessibility audit of STC and have since awarded us their Silver award.

    Everyone is welcome at STC including those with additional needs. Please refer to our designated accessibility page to see how we are working to create an environment that works for all.

  • There’s no dress code at STC. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in!

  • We’d love for you to walk or cycle to STC whenever possible. The 52/52a buses stop right outside too.

    There is plenty of on-street parking if you’re coming by car.

  • All ages are welcome at any of our gatherings. During our 11am gathering, there are designated groups for ages 0-11 and Y7-9.

  • Firstly, our friendly welcome team will greet you and help you find your way around. You are welcome to sit wherever you feel comfortable! Then, feel free to help yourself to any refreshments (dairy and gluten free options available). The gathering will be led by someone from the front and everything will be explained as we go. Participate in as much or as little as you like, and feel free to leave at any time. We’re simply glad you’ve come!

  • Of course! Many people come to our church because they are curious, have been invited by a friend or have not been to church for a really long time. Everyone is welcome!

  • No - we want you to feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible. You won’t be asked to stand up or introduce yourself. Please feel free to simply observe and go at your own pace.

  • St Thomas Crookes is an LEP (Local Ecumenical Partnership). This means we are a united Anglican and Baptist church. Whatever your background or experience of church, you are welcome here.

  • Absolutely! We realise this might be a daunting thing. Many people come to STC for the first time on their own. Our welcome team will be happy to help you feel at home, introduce you to others if you like, or simply find somewhere to sit. There’s no pressure at all!
